Make scanned documents, study notes, and everyday paperwork easier to save and share. Pick a PDF, choose how to compress it, and compare the actual file sizes before saving a new copy.
Choose quality or a target size
Use High Quality, Recommended, or Smallest, or try a target of 1, 2, 5, or 10 MB. You can also enter your own target size.
Keep your original
Save the result as a new PDF. Compare the original size, compressed size, and reduction, then save, share, or open the result in another app.
From a large PDF to a new copy
- Choose a PDF. Use the system file picker and check its size and page count.
- Choose your compression. Select a quality preset or set a target size. You can cancel while the app is working.
- Check the result and save. Review the actual size and whether your target was reached. Save a new file to keep it, or share it with another app.
More control over the trade-off
Standard compression keeps text selection, search, and links while recompressing images. If you need a smaller file, strong compression turns pages into images after you confirm. This can reduce visual quality and removes selectable text, text search, and interactive links.
A few things to know
Do I need an account or an internet connection?
No account is required. Selecting a locally available PDF, compressing it, and saving it work offline. Cloud file providers, sharing services, email, and optional usage or diagnostics services may need a connection.
Does the app collect any data?
PDF contents, file names, and paths are not sent to our servers or Firebase. Optional usage statistics and error/performance diagnostics are both off by default and can be changed separately in Settings → Privacy Settings. The current app has no ads. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Can I compress a password-protected PDF?
Encrypted or password-protected PDFs are not supported. Use an unencrypted copy that you are authorized to access. Unreadable or damaged documents may also be rejected.
Is sharing the same as saving?
No. Shared copies are temporary. Use Save as New File if you want to keep the result. Files you send to another app are handled by that app.
