Help with opening, marking and keeping a copy of your documents.

Getting started

  1. Choose Select PDF to open a document. You can also use a supported app’s Open or Share menu.
  2. Choose a highlighter, line mode, color and thickness, then draw on the page. Use view mode to zoom and move around.
  3. Use Save to create a marked PDF in a location you choose, or Share to send a copy to another app. The original stays unchanged.
  4. Reopen a recent document with its saved marks and last page. Wait for the saved confirmation before closing during a save.

Frequently asked questions

A PDF will not open or save.

Check that the file has downloaded to your device, that you have enough storage and that the file is accessible. Protected PDFs require the correct password. Try another document or restart the app. Keep your important originals.

How is autosave different from Save?

Autosave keeps a working session inside the app. Save creates a new PDF you can keep outside the app. Clearing app data or uninstalling can remove in-app work; exported copies are managed separately.

How long are recent documents kept?

Android keeps them until you delete them, subject to available storage. iOS keeps up to 5 recent PDFs and removes older in-app copies when new documents are added. Deleting an item in the recent list does not delete the original or copies you have exported.

Do password-protected PDFs stay protected?

You need the correct password to open them. Unlocked local working copies and saved or shared output do not retain the original password protection. Consider this before keeping or sharing sensitive documents.

Do I have to attach a file to get help?

No. You can contact us without an attachment. When you choose to attach a problem file, you review and send the email yourself. The attachment flow introduced in iOS 1.0.11 accepts one PDF up to 20MiB and requires a configured system Mail account. If Mail is unavailable, copy the address below and use another email service. Do not send passwords or files or screenshots containing sensitive personal information.

Where can I check analytics and ad settings?

Open Privacy Settings in the app menu to see the current build’s collection status. Android 0.1.10 and iOS 1.0.12 test builds let you choose usage statistics and diagnostics separately. Saved choices are preserved; the policy explains regional initial settings and recovery exceptions. Remote Config uses an installation ID and app information to retrieve operational settings separately from these choices. Firebase remains inactive in the earlier 0.1.9 and 1.0.11 test builds. Advertising consent, advertising privacy options and iOS tracking permission are separate. The Privacy Policy explains the version differences.

Include the app name, Android or iOS, version and build number shown in the app menu, device and OS, and steps to reproduce the problem. Attachments are optional. Only share material you are permitted to disclose and remove sensitive details. You can also request deletion of support correspondence and attachments at this address. We cannot promise to identify or delete every record already sent to a third-party SDK.

Request deletion of support data

PDF Highlighter & Markup is provided by Bokeria Inc. The app has no user account. Support emails and optional PDF attachments are used only to answer and follow up on your request, not for advertising or marketing.

  1. Email appsupport@bokeriastudio.com from the address you used to contact support. Put “PDF Highlighter data deletion” in the subject.
  2. Identify the support conversation or its approximate date, and tell us whether to delete the correspondence, PDF attachments, or both. Do not send the PDF again or provide passwords or identity documents.
  3. We will confirm the request and delete the support messages and attachments that we can identify and control. If a legal obligation requires retaining any item, we will explain the item, reason and applicable retention period. There is no additional fixed retention period for ordinary support material after a deletion request is completed.

PDFs kept only on your device are not held by us: remove them from the recent-document list or clear app data. Manage exported copies in the app or storage service where you saved them. Advertising/Firebase records are handled by the relevant provider; we cannot promise to identify or erase every SDK record. See the retention and deletion notice.
